BACKGROUND

Very simply, this "dream" was developed out of a deep desire to use the creative gifts that God has given me, both physical and spiritual, to further His kingdom. As a professional interior designer and a mother of two, God began to show me that the creative talents I have are gifts from Him, and that they can be used to change people's lives. Through extensive prayer, God has led me to turn this dream into a reality by forming a non-profit organization - Kingdom Design Ministries.
The main goal of this ministry is to uplift the name of Jesus Christ. The "room makeovers" are simply the platform that allows us to bring the spirit of God into people's homes. This opportunity offers more than just a pretty new room for the receiving family. Through this service we bring families closer together in Christ, they receive hope. We strive to help the individual child realize that they are valuable in God's eyes. To assure them that despite their circumstances, He has a purpose, a plan for their lives. They can make a difference in the world because "all things are possible to him that believes" Mark 9:23
Most of all, if anyone in the family has never accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior, we pray that this ministry will open the door to that opportunity. Our job is to be obedient to the call God has placed on our lives...then, leave the results up to Him!

Fall is in the air!

From the changing colors of the leaves, to pumpkins and hay bales - you see it all around! I love this time of year...the season change always brings a longing for change in my own life - a time of reflection, anticipation, a longing for what's just around the corner...the holidays!

Next month, KDM is hosting a fundraiser at Sullivans in downtown Maryville. We will be auctioning off small Christmas trees designed and decorated by area artists and designers - who have generously given their time and talents - to bring a night of festivities! Ornaments, design services, and much more have been donated for auction/purchase - with all proceeds going to Kingdom Design Ministries! If you are interested in attending, tickets are $12.00 and can be paid through the Blount County Chamber of Commerce. Payment will reserve your spot! Space is limited. UPCOMING MAKEOVERS!

Right now we are praying about a little boy but cannot yet disclose his name. We are waiting for funding before we approach his family about this wonderful opportunity. Please join us in praying that God will provide the funds for Kingdom Design Ministries to continue to do this work! GOD SPEAKS!

Ashley Manes
When Ashley was four years old, she was in a terrible car wreck that left her paralyzed from the neck down. Her father, Joe, painfully recalls a turning point for him.
"Ashley was in the hospital in Atlanta. We knew she was paralyzed and at this point she could not speak either. One day before I entered her hospital room, her nurse told me that Ashley had a surprise for me. When I walked into the room, I could see they had put a trach in her throat. For the first time in days, she was able to speak. She looked up at me and said "I love you Daddy". Joe said, at that moment, he knew that God was speaking to him through this child and telling him that everything was going to be O.K.. "I still have my moments but God has taken care of us". SISTERLY LOVE...

Even though Makenzie was not the one diagnosed, she lived this heartbreak right along with her little sister. In many ways, it was also a very devastating time for Makenzie says her mother, Pam. "So much of the time, it seemed as though Makenzie got the leftovers; whether that was our time, money, attention, or affection. Of course we didn't intend it to be that way, and she never complained...it was just what came with a having a very sick little sister."

FOREVER CHANGED...

The same day that changed our country forever also changed this family forever. As the twin towers came crumbling down in NYC, so did their world! Sitting in the doctor's office, they heard the terrible words "Your two year old daughter has cancer".

The scripture verse that sustained their family during Natalie's illness was John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you so. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, you will be also"
